About the Role
GMR Group is hiring a seasoned infrastructure leader as General Manager – Projects for the Bhogapuram International Airport development in Visakhapatnam.
In this leadership position, you will oversee the complete project lifecycle—including design coordination, site execution, quality assurance, and project handover—for campus infrastructure and civil works under the guidance of the Chief Development Officer.

Key Responsibilities
Project & Infrastructure Delivery: Direct and manage civil, structural, and campus infrastructure works to meet stringent deadlines and milestones.
Design & Constructability Reviews: Review architectural designs and construction methodologies in coordination with consultants, EPC contractors, and Independent Engineers.
Contracts & Procurement: Oversee tender specifications, technical evaluations, contractor administration, variation approvals, and final closures.
Stakeholder Management: Coordinate smoothly with government departments, statutory authorities, internal airport operations, and multi-disciplinary teams.
Safety & Quality Governance: Enforce strict compliance with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards and rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) protocols.

Eligibility & Skills Required
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or Electrical Engineering); Master's degree, Construction Management qualification, or PMP certification is advantageous.
Experience: Minimum 25+ years of extensive background in large-scale infrastructure, mega-campuses, airports, or major commercial projects spanning 20–100+ acre parcels.
Domain Knowledge: Deep command over building codes, EPC contract models, PPP frameworks, structural systems, and complex site methodologies.
Leadership & Communication: Demonstrated track record of leading large teams (15–50+ personnel) and managing high-stakes client and vendor discussions.
Strategic Problem Solving: Strong analytical, dispute-resolution, and site-level risk mitigation abilities.
