Role Summary:

Alaan is looking for a Full Stack Engineering Intern with a strong focus on backend development. In this hands-on engineering role, you will work alongside experienced engineers to design, build, and deploy production features across the platform—primarily using Node.js, TypeScript, and modern relational databases, alongside frontend exposure to React.js and Next.js.

Key Responsibilities:

Backend Development: Build and improve backend services and core application business logic using Node.js, Express.js, and NestJS.

API Development: Develop, test, and integrate scalable RESTful APIs connecting services across the platform.

Database Management: Work with relational databases, write efficient SQL queries, design schemas, and build data models.

Frontend Integration: Contribute to user-facing features using React.js and Next.js when required.

Debugging & Reliability: Troubleshoot issues, investigate bugs, and contribute to overall platform performance and system reliability.

Code Quality & Standards: Write clean, testable, and maintainable code adhering to software engineering best practices through peer code reviews.

Product Delivery: Collaborate closely with engineers, Product Managers, and cross-functional teams to take features from requirement definitions to production.

Ownership: Take ownership of features end-to-end and gradually tackle complex engineering challenges.

Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications:

Education: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience: 0 to 1 year (Open to fresh graduates and final-year students).

Required Skills & Technical Competencies:

Programming Languages: Strong foundational knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.

Backend Frameworks: Hands-on exposure to Node.js through coursework, personal projects, or previous internships; familiarity with Express.js or NestJS.

Databases & APIs: Basic understanding of REST APIs and relational database systems (PostgreSQL or MySQL).

Frontend Exposure: Basic working knowledge of React.js and/or Next.js for client-side development.

Version Control: Familiarity with Git and GitHub workflows.

Problem Solving: Strong logical thinking, problem-solving mindset, and eagerness to learn unfamiliar technologies.

Preferred / Good to Have:

Previous internship experience, open-source contributions, or deployed full-stack personal projects.

Familiarity with Docker containerization or cloud services (AWS / GCP).

Exposure to fintech, payments, or spend management domains.
