Role Summary:

EPAM Systems is looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer specializing in the MEAN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, Angular, Node.js). In this role, you will lead the technical design, development, and delivery of scalable enterprise web applications, mentor development teams, conduct code reviews, and drive architectural decisions in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end software design, architecture, and full-stack development using MongoDB, Express.js, Angular, and Node.js.

Architect high-performance, secure, and scalable RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.

Translate complex business requirements into robust technical specifications and solution designs.

Lead code reviews, enforce coding standards, design patterns, and ensure continuous integration/delivery best practices.

Mentor and provide technical leadership to engineering teams across sprint lifecycles.

Optimize application performance, database query execution, and front-to-back latency.

Collaborate closely with Solution Architects, Product Managers, and DevOps engineers to implement cloud-native deployments.

Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent technical discipline.

Experience: 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep hands-on expertise across full-stack JavaScript/TypeScript web architectures.

Leadership Track Record: Proven experience acting as a Technical Lead or Module Lead guiding engineering teams.

Required Skills & Technical Competencies:

MEAN Stack Proficiency: Advanced mastery of MongoDB, Express.js, Angular (latest versions), and Node.js.

Frontend Engineering: Deep understanding of TypeScript, RxJS, state management (NgRx or services), responsive design, and component-driven architecture.

Backend & APIs: Extensive experience designing and developing modular backend services, RESTful APIs, and microservices in Node.js.

Database Engineering: Strong knowledge of MongoDB (indexing, aggregation pipelines, schema modeling) and exposure to relational databases (SQL).

Cloud & DevOps: Practical exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Docker containerization, and automated CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions).

Testing & Quality: Proficiency in writing comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (Jasmine, Karma, Jest, Mocha/Chai).

Agile Leadership: Strong familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and Jira workflows.

Preferred / Good to Have:

Exposure to event-driven architectures and message brokers (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ).

Familiarity with Kubernetes orchestration and serverless computing.

Relevant cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect / Azure Developer Associate).
